CONSUMER EMPOWERMENT

 

All of the following duties are to be completed Affiliation-wide and are relevant to Person Centered Planning (PCP), Self Determination (SD), and Consumer Operated/Driven Services.

The role of the Affiliation Compliance Administrator:

Offer guidance, direction, education and monitoring

bullet

Follow up with requirements outlined in AFP and the ARR (i.e., SD plan and implementation and PCP external facilitation)

bullet

Keep up to date with DCH contract requirements and performance objectives, Medicaid Chapter III changes and monitor compliance

bullet

Update policies/procedures and trainings as needed to ensure best practice

bullet

Act as information broker within the Affiliation and other pertinent agencies

bullet

Chair the Self Determination work group

bullet

Attend management/team meetings within the Affiliation as necessary/requested, such as Affiliation Steering Committee meetings, Consumer & Stakeholder Advisory Council meetings, etc.

Standardize information and education as much as possible within the Affiliation while allowing for individuality between the different agencies

bullet

Visit Affiliate agencies as often as necessary/requested and keep a flexible schedule to offer guidance as needed/requested

bullet

Direct and integrate pertinent recommendations from Affiliate leadership into the role on an ongoing basis

bullet

Promote PCP, SD and consumerism across the Affiliation by supporting the efforts of each Affiliate member Board and providing consultation/guidance for designated staff within each Affiliate

Consists of one or two designated staff from each Affiliate

Chaired by Affiliation Consumer Empowerment Specialist

Role of Work Group (in regard to PCP, SD, Consumerism, and others to be named)

To guide efforts and initiative across the Affiliation

bullet

To assist the Affiliation in getting a consistent message on the direction of PCP, SD, and consumerism efforts

bullet

To provide guidance on cross-training and sharing of information within the Affiliation

bullet

To set standards of effectiveness for the Affiliation

bullet

Assist in defining inventory questions

bullet

Review data gathered by Affiliation Compliance Administrator
